Youth 4 Jesus (Y4J) is inviting all young people to take a candle and join in a Mass in honour of the Pope at 9 p.m. tomorrow to be held at St Julians parish church - which the Pope visited during his first visit to Malta in 1990.

"Knowing how much the Pope loved children and youths, Y4J thought that it would be appropriate that this Saturday, a week after the Pope's death, we'll meet together and invite all youths to a Mass to thank God for such a great man," Y4J said.

Another youth group, YouthLinks Birkirkara, held an activity last Wednesday during which the faithful placed flowers and lit candles in front of a big poster of John Paul II at St Francis church in Birkirkara, in homage to the Pope.

Attard mayor Norbert Pace led the council at a wreath laying ceremony in front of the bust of the Pope, in Gwann Pawlu II Square, Attard.
