Five cadets and three staff members of the Malta GC Unit of the Sea Cadet Corps have returned from two weeks training in the United Kingdom.
The cadets, led by Lieutenant Commander (SCC) C. L. Camilleri, spent their first week in Humberside as guests of the Scunthorpe Sea Cadet Unit.
In their second week the cadets took part in the South Yorkshire, Humberside and Trent Districts annual Easter training camp on board HMS Bristol.
While on board, the five Maltese cadets obtained the following certificates: Aldrin Seychell, RYA Sailing Levels 1 and 2; Elton Cauchi and Dylan Darmanin, RYA Sailing Level 1 and Matthew Galea and Keith Spiteri, RYA Power Level 1.
Probationary Sergeant (SCC) R. Aquilina qualified as a sea cadet instructor at the Sea Cadet training centre.
Petty Officer (SCC) R. Demanuele delivered two courses in meteorology to 20 UK sea cadets while Lieut. Commander Camilleri delivered two courses in communications class 3.
The Malta Sea Cadet Unit forms part of Eastern Area Sea Cadets and is administered by South Yorkshire and Humberside District.
