Bank aids Gozo foundations

Bank of Valletta Gozo branch manager Jack Thewma has presented donations to Gozo-based voluntary foundations Oasi and Arka during separate visits to acknowledge the valuable role they perform within the Gozitan community.

The donations were presented to Fr Emanuel Cordina and Fr Manuel Curmi, director general of Oasi and director of Arka respectively.

The Oasi Foundation aims at helping people avoid drug and alcohol abuse by way of preventive education, immediate intervention and treatment and rehabilitation of persons who already suffer from these addictions.

The Arka Foundation promotes the welfare of people with special needs and also seeks to support their families.

"We are confident that the donations will act as a catalyst in encouraging these two foundations to continue with their most valid work," Mr Thewma said.
