The General Workers' Union's deputy general secretary, Emmanuel Micallef, yesterday filed a libel suit against Net News editor Mario Xuereb.

The suit is over a news report aired on March 27 with regard to the industrial dispute between the union and Enemalta.

The report in question referred to Mr Micallef's contribution in It-Torca. Mr Micallef said Net reported him saying union officials have a right to take advantage of the situation.
