Artist says it with flowers

Anna Galea is showing her most recent flower paintings at Muska in Main Street, Balzan until the end of April.

Ms Galea first came to the attention of the public with a solo exhibition in 1998. Since then she has diversified into watercolours and varied her themes and subjects. Two years ago, she displayed the first of her flower and plant paintings at an exhibition entirely devoted to this theme.

"I was wary about exhibiting them because I didn't think the subject matter would appeal to a Maltese audience but it appears they were liked," Ms Galea said.

The ones on display at Muska will be her last flower paintings for some time as she now wishes to concentrate on studying and painting seascapes, something that has fascinated her for a long time.
