Marsa win regatta

Marsa won the open category of the Freedom Day regatta yesterday and Marsamxett won the reserves category, in an event dwindling in popularity.
Marsa obtained 88 points followed by Cospicua with 44 and Senglea with 16.
In the reserves competition, the Marsamxett oarsmen amassed a total of 60 points followed by Marsa with 50 points and Kalkara with 28 points.
Those taking part in the regatta were Vittoriosa, Cospicua, Kalkara, Marsamxett, Marsa, Senglea and newcomers Birzebbuga. Trophies were presented to the winners by Culture Minister Francis Zammit Dimech.
