BJs nightclub in Paceville has held a series of warm-up gigs of jazz, rock, reggae and blues leading up to its 16th annual music marathon which kicks off today at 5 p.m.

Over the past 15 years, the BJs marathons have raised about Lm96,000, which were distributed to various philanthropic organisations.

For the past several years the funds were handed over to Wishing Others Well, the social arm of the Millennium chapel in Paceville. Last year the musicians netted Lm6,000.

Donations can be made at the door or through text messages on all the mobile networks: 5061 8079 for Lm2; 5061 8922 for Lm3 and 5061 9210 for Lm5.
