I refer to Road Blocks appearing in the On the Dot (March 21).

The correspondent may have either missed the copy of The Times (March 4) in which I explained, in a press release, that "Pinto Wharf was going to be closed to traffic (again) due to restoration works to be resumed by the Works Division". Alternatively, the correspondent may have been misguided by the fact that my letter entitled Pinto Wharf Works, which referred to an item entitled Grotesque that had appeared on February 7, was only published on March 14. Pinto Wharf Works was in fact my reply to Grotesque and was sent to the editor of The Times on February 8. In my opinion, the complete mix-up was a result of the publication of Pinto Wharf Works more than a month late.

I trust that any letters in response to items appearing in any newspaper are published as soon as possible in order to avoid such misleading incidents.
