The Italo-Maltese cultural agreement provides for ten bursaries per year for Italian university academic staff or researchers to be invited to visit the University of Malta to deliver lectures, address seminars, conduct research and discuss academic co-operation.
Travel costs to Malta are to be met by the bursary holder. Applications are invited from members of the academic staff who wish to invite Italian counterparts to visit to Malta for such purposes. The visits may take place at any time during the second half of this calendar year except during academic vacations periods.
Applications should consist of a letter addressed to the Director, International Office, and endorsed by the Head of the Department hosting the visiting Italian academic. The letter is to give details of the dates, duration and programme of the visit, the titles of the lectures to be delivered or seminars to be addressed, co-operation to be discussed, or the research to be conducted.
The letter is to be accompanied by the Italian academic's CV, which should include his or her area of specialisation and English language proficiency. In the case of visits by researchers, a synthesis report on the research conducted is to be submitted to the International Office within one month of the conclusion of the visit. Applications are to reach Joe Grech, Assistant Director, International Office, by e-mail joe.grech@um.edu.mt or by internal mail at the International Office on campus by Friday, April 29.
