Work on the Mdina paving is now focusing on its main streets and squares which could result in traffic difficulties in the city, the Mdina Rehabilitation Project (MRP), has said.

The MRP is responsible for the project, aimed at giving the mediaeval town a complete facelift.

While every effort is being made to reduce the inconvenience, MRP appealed for everyone's collaboration, including that of residents and service providers, who have been requested to limit entry into the city as much as possible.

While the works are catering for a route through the city, those offering services to tourists are being requested to collaborate by not using the streets they normally use.

Meanwhile, traffic lights are being temporarily introduced, MRP said.

The Mdina paving project has reached an advanced stage and the major part of the secondary streets and squares has been completed.

Through everyone's collaboration, the last phase of the project could be completed in time, the MRP added.
