The winner of this month's Vodafone competition is Rev. Dr Joseph Bezzina of Victoria, whose entry reads as follows:
Government should do its best to obtain funds from the European Union to launch a massive campaign: Keep Gozo spick and span - Zomm 'l Ghawdex nadifa tazza.
In this campaign, we should involve the government, the NGOs, as well as the Church. I would promote the campaign through discussions on the ten community radios; adverts on the many magazines published on the island that together reach all Gozitans several times a month; and an information campaign in schools, from kindergarten to post-secondary. I would employ plain-clothes wardens to impose hefty fines on the obstinate: those who litter or disregard waste separation.
Gozo would certainly be a better place to live in.
Fr Bezzina has won a Sharp GX15 mobile phone offered by Vodafone Malta Ltd. The competition will be resumed next month.
