Jacques Bonnet, 36, of Balzan, was yesterday accused of stealing a mobile phone and two cheque books to the detriment of Anthony Lia.

Bonnet was further charged with using the stolen cheque books, falsifying signatures and making illicit gains to the detriment of Bank of Valletta.

Police Inspectors Victor Aquilina and Kevin J. Farrugia prosecuted.
