A teenager was yesterday charged in court with helping in the theft of objects valued at more than Lm1,000 from a Swieqi couple.

The 17-year-old from Gzira, who cannot be named since he is a minor, was also accused of buying or receiving stolen objects.

The teenager pleaded not guilty but he was refused bail by Magistrate Antonio Vella.

Police Inspectors Sharon Tanti, Carmelo Bartolo and Louise Calleja prosecuted.

Dr Kris Busietta appeared for the accused.
