Two UK-based opera singers will take part in a concert in aid of the tsunami victims on Easter Sunday in Nadur.

The concert, featuring tenor James Edwards and soprano Katri Paukkunen, will be held at the Mnarja Band Club theatre at 4 p.m. The singers will be accompanied by the Chorus Urbanus, and will perform arias by Mozart, Puccini, Donizetti and Verdi.

Entrance to the concert is free, but those attending are being requested to make a donation in aid of the Boxing Day tsunami victims.

Nadur council will pass on the money collected into a special fund which was set up by the locality and Baveno, on the shores of Lake Maggiore in Italy - with which the Gozitan village is twinned - and fund Maltese and Italian doctors and nurses to take care of the victims in Asia.

Tickets can be collected from the local council's office in Nadur.
