The Salesians of Don Bosco in Malta are holding an art exhibition entitled The Mystery Of Easter under the patronage of the Apostolic Nuncio for the Holy See in Malta, Mgr Felix del Blanco Prieto, between today and March 27, at St Patrick's Salesian School, Sliema.

The main aim behind this exhibition is to promote love for sacred art, to offer a way of meditation and prayer on the mystery of Easter and the story of salvation and to present to the modern society, imbued with materialism, a way of redemption through sacred art.

The organising committee has chosen a number of well-known artists and asked them to submit their works. All works will be sold in aid of St Patrick's Salesian School, where the Salesians of Don Bosco cater for children in difficulty. A catalogue will also be published, sponsored by the Global Group, and every participant will be awarded a recognition certificate.

An added attraction will be a number of original unpublished sketches of works by Anton Inglott, Tusé Busuttil and Giuseppe Hyzler from a private collection which will also be for sale.

The exhibition will be enriched with antique furniture displayed for sale by Gingell Littlejohn Auction Galleries.

The exhibition is open daily between 9 a.m. and noon, and from 3.30 to 7 p.m.
