Tonio Fenech, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, yesterday presented a donation of Lm500 to Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija, to support the fund-raising hair and beauty marathon being organised by the students and teachers of the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology this weekend.

Ir-Razzett runs programmes for persons with disabilities, who make use of over 30,000 sessions of hydrotherapy, leisure-education and recreation activities every year, free of charge.

Mr Fenech also presented a cheque for Lm2,600 in aid of the Malta for Asia Concert Fund in support of the Asian tsunami victims. The concert had raised another Lm20,000 through the sale of tickets, beverages, CDs and from cash donations.

The parliamentary secretary's donations were made available from the National Lottery Good Causes Fund within the Ministry of Finance and were presented to Nathan Farrugia, CEO of Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija, and to Justin Zammit Tabona on behalf of the organisers of the Malta for Asia Concert.
