Caritas has raised Lm116,000 for the tsunami victims, Lm13,573 of which was raised by the Gozo diocese.

The Thai Episcopal Conference and Caritas Internationalis have already indicated that they will redirect the funds towards a specific humanitarian project.

Caritas Malta has chosen the construction of a boarding house in Krabi, which can accommodate 100 children orphaned by the tsunami.

Caritas will also be involved in two other projects which could offer educational and recreational facilities for hundreds of other youngsters.
