Some attempts to patch the potholes in Triq in-Nadur were made. However, the job will not last long and a little rain will surely put the street back into the miserable state it was in. Only a thorough resurfacing will do.
On the other points raised, such as the replacement of the mirror at the part of Triq il-Gardiel, blind corner with Triq in-Nadur, the zebra crossing at Triq Sant'Antnin (near the HSBC bank) and some information from the local council about a list of 'unmade roads' that are on schedule, unfortunately there was no feedback.
Why all this lethargy, I may ask? Is it not the local council's duty to keep the residents informed of what is going on? It has been ages since we had any newsletter from the local council. Are funds so scarce? Don't we voters merit an explaination? Who is failing us, the local council, the central government or its agencies?
I end by urging one of the third district MPs to ask Minister Jesmond Mugliett about the total number of unmade roads in Marsascala, the money voted for this purpose in the budget and the priority list of road construction.
