Camenzuli go-ahead to play for Malta
Lm3,500 raised for Tsunami fund
Pietà Hotspurs FC defender David Camenzuli is eligible to represent Malta at international level despite having previously been selected to play for Sweden.
At Thursday's council meeting, Malta FA president Joe Mifsud said FIFA had granted Camenzuli, 19, permission to switch nationality.
Camenzuli, who had spells with foreign clubs before returning to Maltese football at the start of the season, had played for Sweden at U-19 level.
The Pietà defender, with paren-tal Swedish origins, has been included in Malta U-21's provisional squad for Wednesday's friendly against Turkey U-20 at the National Stadium.
Meanwhile, Alex Manfrè, the MFA treasurer, announced that the association will be donating Lm3,500 to FIFA's Tsunami Fund.
The sum was collected by the MFA and its affiliated clubs.
