I have visited your beautiful and friendly island for several peaceful holidays and I must say I enjoy every minute. I am always accompanied by my wife and take great pleasure in walking as much as possible to most places, which is thoroughly stimulating in your wonderful weather.
It is not the first time, in fact almost inevitable, that we encounter dogs and cats which seem to be strays, yet none of them appear to be thin and hungry. However, during our present stay, we had a rather unfortunate experience when we walked from Mosta Dome to the former airfield of Ta' Qali to visit the Crafts Village and the Aviation Museum. When walking across the place we were suddenly surrounded by a pack of dogs, which although none seemed aggressive, made us very edgy, especially my wife, who although not particularly afraid of dogs, feels uneasy in the presence of quite large ones.
You can imagine what a pack of fairly sized dogs did to her. She was disturbed and very agitated. We kept on walking and thankfully we arrived at the Aviation Museum. We thought that the worst was over but it was actually still coming. One of the brutes, a black pit bull, suddenly forced his way into the museum by actually opening the door and seemed to rush towards us. My wife almost fainted at the sight but fortunately it kept on going inside. It appeared that it knows the place well and is regularly allowed to roam inside.
Now this can be a very dangerous thing as children may be visiting with their parents and some of them may be terrified. I strongly suggest that some authority collects and removes the packs of dogs which roam the place and furthermore I appeal to the Aviation Museum operators to ensure that no dogs are allowed in this public place. After all, nowhere on earth does one meet dogs roaming in a museum.
