Obituary

GALEA. On February 24, at Royal Brompton Hospital in London, EDWARD of Zabbar, aged 30, joined his Lord and Creator comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by the care and love of his parents Manoel and Mary, his brother Alan and fiancée Amanda. He is dearly missed and loved by his grandmother Stella, his uncles and aunts, and cousins (including those in Canada and Italy), other relatives and friends in Malta and in London. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 3 p.m. for Our Lady of Grace parish church, Zabbar, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Zabbar cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Kleru and Dar tal-Providenza, will be appreciated. Special thanks go to the staff at Royal Brompton Hospital for their constant support.

GATT. On February 25, at St Luke's Hospital, REGINALD, formerly of Zebbug, residing at Mosta, aged 72, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sudden death his wife Jane, his children Patricia, Tania, Edward and Denise and their respective partners Patrick, Annie and Philip, his grandchildren Christian and Olivia, his brothers and their families, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2.45p.m. for Mosta parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar Tal-Providenza will be appreciated.
The family would like to thank the medical staff of St Luke's Hospital, especially of Ward M5 and regret that they are unable to receive visitors. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

PACE. On February 28, at St James Capua Hospital, HENRY passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his children Roberta, Michael and his wife Suzanne, Celia and Harry, his grandchildren Maxine, Yasmin and Andrew, his special friend Doris, his brothers Ronnie and Cecil, his sisters Connie, Edith, Bernadette and Dora and Marion widow of his brother Maurice, in-laws, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital today at 1.45 p.m. for St Gregory parish church, Sliema where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery (top gate). No flowers by request but donations to Eden Foundation will be greatly appreciated.

SAMMUT. On February 28, at her residence in Zurrieq, DOROTHY née Darmanin, aged 69, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her husband Charles, her children Joseph Sammut LLD, MP and his wife Sonia, Kevin and his wife Christine, Cynthia and her husband Raymond Psaila, brothers, sisters, relatives, grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Mass will be said today at 2.30 p.m. at Zurrieq parish church followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord grant her eternal rest.

WYLIE. On February 28, suddenly at home, ROSE MARIE née Zampa, of St Venera, widow of Hugh, aged 65, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her daughters Christine and her husband Ray Bonello, Josianne and her husband David Cordina, her brothers Ronald and Raymond and her sister Elizabeth as well as Paul, Joe, Iris and Julie residing in Australia and their spouses, her grandchildren Ramon, Lyndsay, Shawn and Janika, in-laws, relatives and friends. - R.I.P.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 8.45 p.m. for the old parish church of St Venera where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

The Old Aloysians Association

On the trigesime die from the passing away of Fr CHARLES CARUANA, SJ, a Mass will be celebrated at St Aloysius College outer chapel on Thursday at 7.30 p.m. Relatives and former students are invited to attend.

Vacancies in Aberdeen

The Scottish city of Aberdeen is seeking to recruit Maltese workers in the hospitality and teaching professions.

The city council will be holding job fairs at the Employment and Training Corporation's main office in Hal Far today and tomorrow to explain the employment opportunities.

A number of Maltese have already been employed in the UK following successful job fairs held last year, the ETC said.

The job fair today will deal with offers for employment in various trades in the catering industry, ranging from food services staff to head housekeeper.

A job fair for persons interested in teaching jobs in secondary schools in Scotland will be held tomorrow afternoon.

Food Outlet

Wergers Food Chain (Malta) Ltd have opened their second outlet at K. Abela Street c/w Qormi Road, Hamrun.

Wergers offer a vast range of square shaped burgers and other food. The first outlet was opened in Tarxien in 2002.

Training Trends

TTnet Malta will be holding a seminar on Current Trends In Training, aimed at teachers and trainers, members of the TTnetwork and prospective members.

The seminar will be held on Thursday at the Institute of Tourism Studies, St George's. The speaker will be Rev. Fr Alfred Darmanin.

The aim of TTnet Malta is to promote the development of vocational teachers' and trainers' skills. In fact the seminar is open to all vocational education teachers and trainers.

TTnet Malta is a member of the European Training of Trainers Network established in 1998 by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDFOP).

Youth Tournament

The youth section of the Sliema Philharmonic Society will be organising an Easter football tournament at the Sliema Wanderers FC training grounds in Tal-Qroqq, Msida on March 20 and 27.
