MLP leader turns 57

Labour leader Alfred Sant was given a pleasant surprise yesterday during a reception at the MLP headquarters to celebrate his 57th birthday.

A reception was held in the office of MLP general secretary Jason Micallef, where Dr Sant was welcomed by the party's two deputy leaders Charles Mangion and Michael Falzon, MPs and party employees.

Dr Sant thanked all those involved in the campaigns steered by the MLP and pledged that his party would work to secure electoral victories "in the name of all Maltese".
