A radio station manager has been conditionally discharged for a year for exercising a presumed right when he locked people out of the station following a disagreement.

Magistrate Saviour Demicoli found the manager of DJs Radio Mario Tufigno guilty of taking the law into his hands when he did not allow Grima Communications Limited staff into the station on December 16, 2002.

At the time DJs Enterprises, the owner of DJs Radio, and Grima Communications Limited, owned by Joe Grima and under which Live FM radio operated, were broadcasting from the same premises due to ongoing discussions to merge the two stations to form DJs Live FM.

But following a disagreement in December 2002 the merger fell through and Tufigno locked Grima Communications' staff out of the premises.
