A salesman was yesterday charged with misappropriation when he took payments from clients but did not forward the money to his employer.

Malcolm Zammit, 21, of Sta Venera, was charged with misappropriating over Lm1,000 to the detriment of the owner of Bathroom Design Limited, where he worked, on and before September 2004.

Zammit, who was appeared before Magistrate Jacqueline Padovani Grima, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Police Inspector Angelo Gafà prosecuted.

Dr Franco Debono appeared for Zammit.
