A man was yesterday conditionally discharged for a year after he admitted to assaulting and slightly injuring another man.

Magistrate Abigail Lofaro heard Robert Camilleri plead guilty to threatening, assaulting and injuring James Albert Zammit and damaging his car in Safi on June 26, 2003.

On handing down judgment the magistrate noted that Zammit had forgiven Camilleri, who had agreed to pay for the damage caused. She also noted that Camilleri had a clean criminal record and bound Camilleri not to bother Zammit for a year against a Lm100 fine in default.

Police Inspector Walter Spiteri prosecuted.
