The number of persons applying for a hunting licence dropped from 1,042 in 2000 to 830 in 2001 going up again to 993 in 2002, down to 673 in 2003 and to 491 last year. The figures were given by Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg in reply to a parliamentary question by Labour MP Adrian Vassallo.
