Malta International Airport plc has sponsored an exhibition of photographs depicting the Maltese Islands by The Times photojournalist Darrin Zammit Lupi in Berlin.

The exhibition forms part of Cultural Year Of Ten, an initiative aimed at providing a cultural insight into the 10 new EU member countries. The project is funded by the German Ministry of State to the Chancellor.

Each new EU member state was represented by a photographer using several different venues in and around Berlin as exhibition sites. Mr Zammit Lupi, exhibited a collection of his works entitled A Touch Of Malta at the Representation of the State of Saarland.

MIA said it supported the initiative in line with its policy to promote national talent abroad.

A Touch Of Malta, it said, not only reflects the artistic talent of the photographer but also promotes Malta within a prestigious environment.
