In an effort to further enhance its commitment towards the HR profession, the FHRD is launching a continuous professional development (CPD) programme specifically designed for those responsible for the management and development of people.

It will be delivered by different training providers subcontracted by the foundation for their knowledge, expertise and experience in the relative field.

The FHRD CPD programme will have the overall aim of providing developmental events in the form of training courses and/or workshops for a specific target audience.

Apart from the learning objectives of each individual course, the programme will also provide the opportunity for networking between participants and for the benchmarking of good HR practices, enhancing good people management practices across the Maltese Islands.

Participants would include all those who in some way are responsible for the management and development of people, covering middle to senior management, including directors, general managers and chief executives, besides HRM/D managers and their staff. The programme will appeal both to those new to the job and to the more experienced and mature practitioners.

The programme comprises training courses covering the following areas:

Understanding Employment Legislation - A Legal Update;

Appreciating Corporate Occupational Health and Safety Responsibility;

HR Foundation Course;

Training: Needs Analysis, Design and Delivery;

People Management in Small to Medium Enterprises;

Finance for HR Managers;

Mediation, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution at Work; and

Emotional Intelligence.

The FHRD is calling on training providers to put forward proposals to participate in the FHRD CPD programme planned for May, 2005-June, 2006. All those interested in offering their expertise in this programme are to submit a detailed written and electronic proposal by March 4 addressed to Ms Maria Pia Chircop, Chief Executive, FHRD.
