Charged with possession of cocaine, firearms

George Degiorgio 42, of Marsa, but living at St Paul's Bay, was arraigned before Magistrate Joe Cassar yesterday and charged with various offences, including possession of cocaine.

Inspector Nadia Lanzon also charged Degiorgio with being in possession of various objects without showing how he came in legitimate possession of them, and with possession of various firearms, including a Colt automatic pistol, the importation of which is prohibited.

Degiorgio pleased not guilty to all charges and was granted bail on a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Dr Roberto Montalto and Dr Joseph Giglio assisted Degiorgio.
