A public officer has been conditionally discharged for a year after he pleaded guilty to stealing several items, including medicines, from St Luke's Hospital.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti heard Martin Azzopardi, 38, of Naxxar plead guilty to stealing the items on July 24, 2004.

Police Inspector Carmel Magri prosecuted.
