Zajec to quit as Portsmouth manager

Velimir Zajec is to step down as manager of Portsmouth at the end of the season.

"We will bring in a new manager or coach in the summer," he said. "I will still be responsible for the overall football side (of things). We are talking to a few people and we are looking all over (for a manager or coach)."

Zajec joined Portsmouth as an executive director in November, a move that prompted Harry Redknapp to quit as the Premier League club's manager.

Portsmouth's chairman Milan Mandaric put Zajec in charge of team affairs following the resignation of Redknapp.
