Allow me to correct some "presumptions" and "perceptions" which appeared in Dr Manuel Borda's article "Church economics" (The Sunday Times, January 30).

1. The monthly magazine Flimkien is published by the College of Parish Priests, not by the local Church,

2. The magazine has as many pages of text as there are advertising pages.

3. It is not the purpose of the magazine to make a profit; if any is made - and at the moment this seems highly unlikely - it will be used to enhance the magazine. Dr Borda is invited to examine the magazine's accounts.
