Megabyte Ltd and Oracle ECE Limited have celebrated 15 years of working together in Malta. During a short ceremony at Megabyte's operations centre at the Mosta Technopark, Alfonso Di Ianni, senior vice-president, European Enlargement and CIS Region, Oracle, acknowledged important milestones in Megabyte's history as well as the ongoing relationship.
He also presented an elegant brass plate marking the occasion to Karm Galea, founder director of the company.
In a short speech, Mr Di Ianni thanked Megabyte for the hard work they have put in over the years to promote and establish Oracle's products and services in Malta. He looked forward to even stronger relations in the coming years.
"Oracle are truly impressed by Megabyte's efforts to build solutions using Oracle products and services as well as in the delivery of consulting and technical support on Oracle Technology," Mr Di Ianni said.
"In setting up a local Oracle office with a business development manager in Malta, Oracle is recognising the importance of Malta in its role in Europe."
Mr Galea, who was instrumental in formally introducing Oracle locally, said that the Oracle-Megabyte partnership was a success story in the history of IT in Malta.
Indeed, against tough competition, Megabyte managed to introduce Oracle technology in various private and public organisations and also implemented several Oracle-based applications in a number of business sectors.
Besides having trained a good number of its staff in different areas of Oracle technology and applications, Megabyte also set up an Oracle skills training centre after being qualified by Oracle as a Certified Education Partner.
Also present for the occasion were John Ambrogio, general manager, and James Forte, manager, software services, at Megabyte.
