A Maltese Business mission leaves for Padua, Italy, on March 4 and 5 to take part in "A Partnership Event" of the new BOSS (Business Opportunities and Services for Small-micro companies) project, which has just been launched.
Details of the business mission were given by Angele Giuliano, president of the Foundation for Women Entrepreneurs (Malta) and local partner of the project.
"It is a great honour for us to officially announce the continuation of the BORDER project, which has granted many satisfactions and successes, within the new born BOSS project."
Ms Giuliano said BOSS is a project - supported by the European Commission - which is taking over the care for the economic development of border regions (Veneto, Central Macedonia and now also Friuli Venezia-Giulia), and the specific aim of assisting small to micro-companies to access easily relevant information and a business support system.
"We would like to invite all those local businesses operating in mechanical engineering and sub-contracting to form part of our business mission and meet the over 350 business people from the 11 participating countries (nine EU member states and two candidate countries)."
This is the first project event to be held, which is also aiming to organise another partnership meeting in Italy, one in Greece and the final networking conference in Brussels.
Ms Giuliano said that a practical Small Business Financing handbook will be distributed to all participating companies before the partnership events containing relevant information on the available financial support possibilities existing in the candidate countries, according to the latest developments of the EU programming exercise.
As a final outcome of the project activities, a Business Service Providers Database CD-Rom will be prepared and distributed along with the final networking conference to be held in Brussels in April 2006.
The Business Service Providers Database CD-Rom is meant to provide the EU cross border companies with a practical reference guide on who's who on the business services available at local level.
