Back-to-back defeats for Juventus have left Milan breathing down their necks so the Serie A leaders will not be relishing the prospect of tomorrow's match against third-placed Udinese.

Losses against Sampdoria and Palermo have slashed Juve's cushion at the top of the table from eight points to two but Juve coach Fabio Capello still has a measured view of the situation.

"We've made a mess of a couple of matches, but we're still first and I'm convinced that we'll achieve great things yet," he said after losing to Palermo last weekend.

Even so, there are easier opponents than well-organised Udinese, who started the year with four defeats in five matches, but have rediscovered their composure, beating Chievo and Brescia to take third place from Inter.

Juventus beat Udinese 1-0 earlier in the season thanks to a goal by Marcelo Zalayeta. The big Uruguayan striker is expected to start on the bench as Capello reverts to his usual pairing of David Trezeguet and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Pavel Nedved has also recovered from a knee injury and is expected to come on as a substitute.

The home side, meanwhile, are at full strength and should be spearheaded by in-form striker Vincenzo Iaquinta, who has scored in Udinese's last two matches.

The other matches

Lazio vs Atalanta - Lazio have earned just one point in their last five matches. Their chances of beating bottom-placed Atalanta are damaged by suspensions for defender Fernando Couto and midfielder Antonio Filippini.

Inter vs Roma - Ten-man Inter's fightback from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Parma last weekend confirmed their reputation as Serie A's comeback kings.

Roma, meanwhile, suffer the opposite problem - that of hanging on to a lead - and have surrendered the advantage in draws with Lecce and Bologna in their two previous games.

Bologna vs Palermo - Palermo visit Bologna full of confidence after their 1-0 win against Juventus last weekend.

Bologna, however, are among the division's in-form sides and last lost midway through December, when they went down 1-0 to Juve. Since then they have collected five wins in eight matches and are expected to be at full strength.

Brescia vs Cagliari - Cagliari have lost striker Antonio Langella to suspension, but will still be confident of beating a Brescia side that has earned three points in its last nine games.

Fiorentina vs Parma - Dino Zoff's hopes of ending Fiorentina's three-match losing streak are dented by bans to striker Valeri Bojinov and defender Daniele Delli Carri.

As usual Parma will look to Alberto Gilardino for a goal. The 22-year-old striker confirmed his form with a goal in Italy's 2-0 friendly win over Russia in midweek.

Lecce vs Chievo - Lecce's first-choice keeper Vincenzo Sicignano misses the match after being sent off during last weekend's 3-1 defeat in Cagliari.

The visitors are without suspended midfielder Franco Semioli.

Livorno vs Sampdoria - Livorno have been sitting comfortably in mid-table but will be eager for a morale-boosting result after last week becoming only the second team all season to lose to bottom-placed Atalanta.

Sampdoria have won their last three matches on the road, including a 1-0 victory over leaders Juventus.

Siena vs Messina - Siena are struggling to assemble a full-strength team as they attempt to escape the relegation zone. Brazilian midfielder Taddei is still injured, as is midfielder Andrea Ardito.

Messina midfielder Gaetano D'Agostino misses the match through suspension.

Reggina vs Milan - Milan continue their pursuit of Juventus without midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who injured his knee during Italy's midweek friendly against Russia.

Reggina will be aiming to pull off another upset at their Granillo stadium, having already beaten Juventus and Roma there this season.
