Division One leaders Banks ROL made it 10 victories from as many matches with an easy 7-2 win over bottom-placed University when the latest round of matches from the Malta Table Tennis Association national leagues was played at the University Hall.
But, second-placed Birkirkara Keramit had to fight hard for a 6-3 victory after staving off the stiff challenge from the much-im-proved Mosta Gunners team.
National team player Alex Soler, of Keramit, was the best player on the day, winning a decisive match against the Gunners' latest recruit from Tunisia.
In Division Two, Valletta TTC continue to dominate and are now four points clear of their next rivals Fleur de Lys. In Division Three all is now left for the upcoming clash between HSBC TTC and Fleur De Lys.
HSBC need a win to force a promotion decider, obviously, if both teams continue in their present good form.
