Special offer for Telecare clients
Maltacom is waiving the connection charge of Lm5.90 (which includes VAT) on every Carelink value added service availed of by Telecare customers.
The offer is valid between now and March 31.
The Carelink service, the commercialised and enhanced version of the basic social Telecare service, offers a wide variety of automatic alarms ideal for both home and business premises.
Telecare customers need only apply for the value added services of their preference without having to opt for a full Carelink package.
Some of the alarms offered by Carelink are triggered automatically as soon as a hazard is detected. Other alarms are designed to be activated manually by the user.
The alarms report various types of hazards in the home or business premises, such as theft or break-in, gas leakage, flooding, harassment from unwanted visitors, falls and other emergencies.
The alarms are reported through an automatic telephone call from the customer's fixed telephone line to a specialised 24x7 monitoring centre, which deals with every case individually and follows it up until safety is ensured. The centre, manned by highly trained persons, offers direct attention and protection, Maltacom said.
A spokesman for the company said: "Given the choice, most elderly persons would rather stay in their own home. Maltacom has developed the Carelink service to give such persons secure independent living in their home at less than 8c daily for each service."
