Air Malta yesterday announced the appointment of Kevin Mallia as its chief officer internal audit, as part of its plans to reorganise the company's top management structure.
Mr Mallia will form part of the airline's senior management team, together with the six chief officers, the chief operating officer and the chief executive officer. He will be reporting to the audit committee and the chairman of the board of directors.
Mr Mallia graduated BA (Hons) Accountancy from the University of Malta in 1994 and is a certified public accountant and auditor. He has over the years gained professional audit experience, both locally and abroad, while employed with PricewaterhouseCoopers, RSM International and Ernst & Young.
Ernst Funk, Air Malta's chief executive officer, said: "This is another step forward in our plans to reorganise the top management structure of the company. We are glad that Mr Mallia is joining our team. We are now concluding the process to put in place the second layer of the organisation and I hope that the process will be finalised by the end of the month."
