Encouraged by the success of the first Mini Volley Festival held in December, the Malta Volleyball Association has just announced the dates of the next three festivals to be organised this season.

The upcoming mini volley festival will be held on March 6 and another on March 20. The remaining festival will take place on May 1, wrapping up the season's activities.

The December 2004 festival was indeed a total success, both in terms of participation and organisation. In all, 12 teams were present, with all sides playing six matches each.

Stephanie Borg and Eleanor Aquilina, from the Paola club, together with Kurt Camilleri, Artan Portelli, Matthew Zammit Cordina and Jean Marc Zerafa, all of Kerygma, played consistently well, considering their tender age.

The same formula will be applied for the next three festivals to be staged at the Cottonera Sports Complex.

Meanwhile, the Malta Volleyball Association has just launched a competition to select a mascot for its junior activities. The design should incorporate the concept that playing volleyball is healthy and fun.

The closing date for this competition is March 15.
