St Francis Catholic Church in Tripoli will be celebrating the feast of St Paul Shipwrecked on Thursday. The Maltese bishop of Benghazi, Mgr Sylvester Magro, OFM, has been invited to celebrate Mass in Maltese.
Among those expected to attend are the new Maltese ambassador to Libya, Dr Joe Cassar, the consul-general, Robert Aquilina, and Maltese nuns in Libya.
Fr Daniel Farrugia, who is now serving in Libya, is inviting all Maltese working in various sectors and companies in Tripoli to attend.
The Bishop of Tripoli, Mgr Giovanni Martinelli, OFM, who will be taking part in the celebration, said he wishes to join the Maltese people in thanking God for the gift of faith they received from St Paul.
