The annual inflation in the eurozone was 2.1 per cent in January, according to a flash estimate by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Communities.

It was 2.4 per cent last December. The member states in the eurozone are Belgium, Germany, Greece, Spain, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal and Finland.
