Pamela Cremona, widow of the late Joseph Cremona, a distinguished Romance linguist and a Fellow at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, has donated a collection of her late husband's books to the National Council for the Maltese Language.

The decision by Mrs Cremona to donate the books followed a suggestion by Manwel Mifsud, head of the Department of Maltese at the University of Malta.

Dr Cremona was also a keen follower of developments in the local linguistic scene.
