Mayor replies to councillor's allegations

St Paul's Bay mayor Paul Bugeja and the local council's executive secretary Mario Ellul have filed a counter-protest claiming that the allegation made by councillor Keith Grech was totally unfounded.

In a judicial protest Grech had requested that council meetings be held at a time when he could attend, that is after his working hours, claiming that the council's actions were abusive.

The mayor and Ellul explained that the allegations were unfounded and asked Grech, a full-timer at Maltacom plc, to abide by the directives issued by the Department of Local Councils and observe the law when it came to attendance at council meetings.
