Sliema council demands consultation meeting

The Sliema local council said yesterday it will be asking the Malta Environment and Planning Authority to hold a consultation meeting with residents on the Qui-Si-Sana development brief.

The meeting is being requested in view of the fact that the development brief issued in 1999, on which public consultation had been held, differs from the brief issued in 2002, the council said.

"The local council wishes to assure the residents, especially Qui-Si-Sana residents, that it agrees on a fresh consultation process and is asking Mepa that before any development permits are issued the council is to be consulted as required by law," the council said.
