Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi yesterday challenged Labour leader Alfred Sant to specify where recycling plants should be located.

Addressing the annual general meeting of the Xaghjra Nationalist Party sectional committee, Dr Gonzi said it was a shame the MLP had chosen to hinder the government's work.

Dr Gonzi said recycling plants must be situated close to sewage treatment plants.

The Labour leader, the Prime Minister added, showed he was not capable of making a useful contribution. Whenever the government acted in the interests of the people and the country, the MLP sought only to satisfy its partisan interests.
