A 51-year-old man from Nadur was yesterday charged with having, during the last 10 months, cultivated the cannabis plant and kept such drug in his possession in circumstances which showed it was not for his personal use.

Joseph Buttigieg was remanded in custody after Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera denied his plea to be released on bail.

The prosecution was conducted by Police Inspectors Nezren Grixti and Pierre Grech.

Dr Georgine Grech assisted the accused.
