64 projects approved
Public Investments Minister Austin Gatt said yesterday that 64 projects were approved last year including 35 which involved foreign investment.
He told Chris Agius (MLP) in reply to a parliamentary question that 23 of the projects involved new investment and 41 were extensions. The 64 projects were projected to create 1,719 jobs in three years' time. The 23 new projects on their own would employ 940.
The minister said 11 of the new projects had already come on stream and were employing 66 full timers and 11 part timers.
