Atletico agree to loan Musampa to Man. City

Atletico Madrid have agreed to loan midfielder Kizito Musampa to Manchester City until the end of the season.

Atletico said the deal was subject to the 27-year-old completing a medical with the English club who would have an option to buy the player at the end of the campaign.

Musampa, who began his career at Ajax Amsterdam, joined Atletico from Malaga at the start of last season for a reported fee of three million euros.

He played 26 games in his first season at Atletico and began the present campaign in the starting line-up but has faded out of the reckoning in recent months.

A left-sided midfielder, Mus-ampa was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and has Dutch citizenship.

¤ Dutch international goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has signed a contract extension with Premier League Fulham until 2006. Van der Sar's decision to sign a new deal ends speculation linking him with a possible move to Manchester United or Arsenal.
