Man held after cannabis find
The drug squad seized a substantial amount of cannabis resin from Gozo on Tuesday afternoon, the police said yesterday.
The operation began when officers intercepted a 51-year old man from Nadur after they noted him in possession of suspicious items. An amount of cannabis resin was found in the man's car. A search in his fields at Dahlet Qorrot yielded more cannabis.
In all, the police said they seized just under two kilos of drugs.
The man was well known in police circles and is expected to be charged shortly, the police said.
