Assuming the illegal immigrants, alias refugees, alias asylum seekers, are genuine in their claim that they ended up here against their will they should be given a Maltese passport and an airline ticket to the nearest port of call, namely Catania; such passport to be handed to them as they get on the plane.

Then our newly acquired brethren up north in the other 24 countries of the EU can enjoy their share of the unwanted thousands that end up on our shores!

Incidentally, this in no way excuses the heavy-handed, barbarous and ill-trained way our armed forces reacted recently. I'd hate to see them being unleashed on a crowd of peaceful Maltese demonstrators if the need ever arises!
